Quilted velvet coating would be perfect for sewing yourself a lightweight jacket or waistcoat, patterns such as the Hovea by Megan Nielsen or the Emmi by Papercut Patterns or the Wildwood Vest by Helen's Closet. One side is a velvet which is covered in a patchwork design in shades of blue, and the other side is a plain navy water resistant fabric. Between both fabrics is wadding. The two fabrics and wadding have been quilted together using an onion shaped pattern in blue thread.
