Amelia's Lady McElroy The Little Pomegranate Sabina Skirt

This is my second Sabina Skirt.  I loved the pattern so much and I feel the last one I made is more of a summer version.  I wanted to make a second version of the Sabina Skirt that I could wear in Autumn and Winter. So when Jenny asked me if I would make something for the Sew Me Sunshine Blog I knew exactly what pattern it was going to be and this was fabric that I had been eyeing up from afar for quite a while!  I knew it would be perfect for the change of seasons and would be a real statement piece in my wardrobe.

In this photo I am wearing my Little Pomegranate Sabina Skirt made in Lady McElroy Symbolic of Cool Viscose fabric with my True Bias Marlo Sweater in a black fleece fabric. The buttons on the Marlo Sweater are from Pigeon Wishes.

Here is a photo of the finished skirt I was so pleased to be given this lovely tag from Sew Me Sunshine it says sewing sunshine which is so sweet and helps me to remember where the back of the skirt is.

What drew me into this fabric was the colours and the pattern.  I really loved the faces on the fabric but also the smaller details like the vases, tigers and small floral touches too. The colour scheme is so beautiful and I knew I would be able to pair the fabric of this skirt with loads of different items in my wardrobe (as seen in the photographs) also I knew it would work with boots and winter shoes for the colder months and also trainers when it is slightly warmer.  I am so pleased with this skirt and I can see myself wearing it all year round.

Here is the skirt paired with the True Bias Nikko top.

As always the team at Sew Me Sunshine were amazing with their communication.  I asked them for photos of sweat shirting fabrics that would match the skirt and they were onto it immediately.  I did buy the 'Vintage Rose - Viscose Fleece Backed Jersey' that was recommended to me and I am so pleased with it.  I decided to make the Tilly and the Buttons Pearl cardigan and I love this too.
