High Street Fashion Brand Mint Velvet Sewing Ideas

We are constantly inspired by fashion brands on the high street when it comes to our fabric buying here at Sew Me Sunshine so we thought we would put together some sewing inspiration for you that is inspired by Mint Velvet. We have paired some indie sewing patterns with some of our fabrics to create 5 different looks.

Leopard print features a lot in Mint Velvet and so do midi length skirts. We also spotted lots of high neck tops.

They have some stunning simple viscose jersey dresses with fun ruching, and of course there are Trench Coats available.

Patterns: Juliana Martejevs Vero Dress, Named Isla Trench Coat.
Fabrics: Deadstock Viscose Jersey Peach Chocolate Zigzag, Deadstock Water Repellant Cotton Twill Trench Coating.
Shoes: Amy Black Leather Ankle Boots.

White trousers are still a Mint Velvet staple, and we also found a few chambray blouses. There are pops of butter yellow throughout their collection too.

Patterns: Merchant & Mills Quinn Trousers, Fabric Godmother Carnation Blouse, Cloth House Sailor’s Collar (free pattern).
Fabrics: Tencel™ Lyocell Chambray, Ventana Cotton Twill White PFD, Cotton Poplin Butter Yellow.

Smart casual wear is a big part of Mint Velvet and they are also known for their scooped t-shirts.

Patterns:
Wardrobe by Me Amelia Bomber Jacket, Fabric Godmother Calla Trousers, Paradise Patterns Honeygirl Tee.
Fabrics: Viscose Ponte Di Roma Marine Navy, Bamboo Jersey White
Shoes: Lina Neutral Suede Lace Detail Trainers.
