Ruth's Mustard Ventana Cotton Twill Intrepid Boilersuit
One of my Make 9 for 2022 is the Intrepid Boilersuit, it has been on my sewing list forever and it was about time that it come off. So, when I got a request to sew anything I wanted with my choice of fabric from sew me sunshine’s store I knew what I wanted to make.
I enjoyed sewing with the cotton twill fabric, it was not too stiff, and it didn’t fray at the edges. The fabric is easy to work with and feels very soft against the skin too.
I sewed size ‘orange’ for my bodice and sized up to ‘green’ for my waist and hips. Alice and co patterns name sizes with colours. I had to reduce my bodice length by 3 inches because I have a short torso and longer legs.
This is my first boilersuit but not my last. To have a less loose fit I’ll advise that you size down because it is a little looser than what I prefer.
I enjoyed sewing with this fabric, it is beautiful, the colour doesn’t run even in the wash, and it feels great against the skin.
*Ruth was provided the fabric of her choice free of charge for her blog post & also provided with a £50 voucher *
What a comfortable-looking garment, a real “throw it on and go” design. (I am glad the cotton twill feels good against the skin as it appears to have a little crunch in these photos.) That color looks beautiful against Ruth’s skin, too. A very successful project.
