Deadstock waxed cotton fabric was sourced from a high end British designer known for their waxed coats. This cotton fabric has been treated with a wax coating meaning that it is water resistant. Due to this waxed coating the fabric does leave creased marks. These marks can be resolved by either heating the fabric gently with a hairdryer or re-waxing the fabric, but we think these marks give the fabric a unique traditional look. Unlike some of our previous deadstock wax cottons this one is more like a dry wax cotton as it is less sticky/tacky. These high end fabrics are ideal for sewing yourself a coat or a bag, patterns such as, the Foreman jacket by Merchant and Mills or  Le Sac Banane by Atelier Brunette or you could sew an apron or a backpack. This colourway is an aqua green.

Composition: 100% Cotton *
Width: 150cm
Weight: Medium weight
Drape: Structured
Opacity: Opaque
Texture: Waxed finish (less tacky than previous waxed cottons we have stocked, more like a traditional dry wax)
Care: Do not wash, hand wash only if necessary, do not iron as this will remove the wax barrier. Only place pins in the seam allowance.
Origin: Ex designer deadstock sourced from UK designer

* As the fabric is deadstock it means that we don't always know the fabric composition, but we do perform burn tests on the fabric.

We sell our dressmaking fabrics in half metre increments.

We do our best to get accurate images of all of our fabrics, but due to varying monitor screens colours may differ slightly to the original fabric. If you are unsure about the colour, weight or scale of the fabric you can order a swatch of the fabric.
