Ponte di roma is an interlock fabric which is a type of double knit fabric. Double knit fabric consists of two layers of fabric knitted together with two needles. Ponte di roma is a thick fabric with a smooth surface. It has a full drape and more structure than a standard single cotton jersey. It is ideal for sewing yourself a jersey jumpsuit such as the Nova Jumpsuit by True Bias, a cardigan such as the Pearl Cardigan by Tilly and the Buttons or the Lisa cardigan by Seamwork (affiliate link), or a sweatshirt such as the Neige Sweatshirt by Deer and Doe. This ponte di roma is a classic burgundy colour.
